Women activism

After completing all my household chores and keeping Anjayo in my nani’s safe hands, I rushed to Reh-ko (Idu Mishmi's community hall) with my good friend Unga to attend a women's meeting.

It was a first such gathering of Idu women, where participants were of my age, mostly in their late 20's.

I was very excited and happy to be attending it. All the ladies were well in advanced informed about this meeting.

We had a good discussion on various burning issues that our Dibang Valley was facing.

Overall the meet was a really good one. ”Drugs” and "Sex Education” were the two main topics on which everyone stressed.

Anjayo's Jokers

These days I cannot leave Anjayon alone. Even for some urgent work when I get up, she starts to cry.

So at home all have become good jokers and actors. Especially my nani, when I have to go for work she is the one doing all the dancing (catching her dress from both the sides, moving her legs, hips…} clapping, singing and when Anjayo’s attention is distracted I rush out from the door.

It’s funny doing all the hide and run stuff.

Anjayo's milklady

These days Anjayo recognizes me. I just wonder whether she knows me as her 'mother' or as her 'milklady'.

I leave her with my parents and go to work. When I am back, as she sees me, she struggles to reach me. But still, when I don't take her in my arms (which I do knowingly), she starts to cry. And when she cries, her tears rolls down her cheeks, her nose, her mouth!

She rarely cries, so at times I make her cry quite long. Heard and read somewhere that crying is good exercise for babies.

Where is Anjayo?

After a good bed rest, my Nani Apiya is doing good. Its been almost 17-18 hours since her accident. And the first thing she asked us is, "Where is Anjayo?"

It's a sweet reunion for both of them. Nani Apiya and Anjayo with their toothless smile, greet each other. They are so happy!

While they laughed and played, my nani (mother), naba (father) and I watched them silently.

Anjayo's best friend is ill

My Anjayo's best friend, my Nani Apiya (mom's elder sister) is not feeling well today. While drying her clothes, she slipped on the floor and hurt herself really bad. She is in a critical state. Whole morning she was continously puking.

Later, when we showed her to Doctor, the reason was.... a very high BP.

Even my Anjayo is having gas problem. Though she is not complaining, it's her 'shit' that is coming out non stop. Hope by tomorrow both my darlings are fit and fine.

In support of Anna Hazare

Today was a very memorable day for the whole of Roing. First time in the history of Roing there was a 'candle light march' against corruption.

Anna Hazare's fast against corruption was gaining huge popularity in the mainland India and abroad. To show our oneness with him, this march was done, which turned out to be a big one.

People from all walks of life came together. Mr Mimi in the facebook had wrote about this march in his wall and he was bit doubtful whether people of Roing will turn up or not.

I am so glad that people did came in huge number and made a history!

She bites

Today while breastfeeding 'Anjayo'; all of a sudden she bit my nipple. It was not exactly painful but a slight pinching and ticklish feeling.

After this first bite, she kept on bitting. Later I said my mom about this exprience and she laughed saying "now our Anjayo's teeth are trying to grow."

Actually now it is her teething period.

Thick Khichdi

Today my daughter relished her breakfast. The khichdi that I prepared was thick, not like the regular watery one. She had almost 13 tablespoons.

Amateur eater

Today my 'bebe' had her food nicely. She finished almost one saucer and drank H2O with a cute smile on her face. And the funny part was that she wanted to have more kichdi.

But my mom said "she is an amateur eater so better for all of us that she takes less and with the passing of days increase the amount gradually."

Her first meal

Today 'Anjayo' took her first meal; dal. I know she didn't enjoy the taste of it. In the beginning she just threw it out from her mouth. But slowly, very slowly she started to have it. She took almost one hour to complete her four tablespoon meal!

Tomorrow, I will give her water and asubra (kichdi made of small rice particles)!

Anjayo's first 'aputi'

Today my daughter 'Anjayo' did her first aputi (baby's first turn).

All at home, my dad, mom, brothers, sisters, aunts and cousins couldn't stop clapping for her. Her dad 'Mr Mimi' was busy taking her pictures. It was like a big big achievement for all of us!
